Midterm Check-In

Please note that the midterm Check-In is not available during the Summer term.

The Midterm Check-In is the opportunity for instructors to collect midterm feedback from their students using the Your Feedback system [i.e., the online system used at Western to administer the end of course Student Questionnaire on Courses and Teaching (SQCT) - feedback.uwo.ca].

If your instructors have opted in to the Midterm Check-In, this means that they are interested in getting feedback on the course so far. Instructors take your feedback seriously and want to identify strengths and opportunities for improving the course before the term is over.

You will receive an email with a link to the feedback questionnaire if any of your instructors have opted to do the Midterm Check-In. Be sure to fill out the questionnaire(s) before the close date (please see the Course Feedback Dates page for all of the relevant SQCT dates).

Please see the Course Feedback Dates page for all of the relevant SQCT dates.
Yes! Your Feedback is completely online and the questionnaires can be filled out on any desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet, regardless of its operating system. You don't even have to download an app. You can fill out the Midterm Check-In where you want, when you want as long as the feedback period is open.

The length of the Midterm Check-In is determined by each individual instructor but filling in the questionnaire is likely to take anywhere between 2-10 minutes.

No. You choose when to complete each Midterm Check-In. You can even save your work part way through a questionnaire and then finish providing feedback on the course later. Your instructor may also give you time during class. Just be sure to finish it before the close date (please see the Course Feedback Dates page for all of the relevant SQCT dates)!

As with the end of course questionnaires, your responses on the Midterm Check-In are confidential. Results of the Midterm Check-In contain no identifying student information, so, instructors cannot identify who provided feedback. Only the course instructors receive the Midterm Check-In results. These results will be available to instructors the week following the Midterm Check-In period.
